Description
Senior-level Project Manager to consult with client companies to define project scope and necessary resources.
Responsibilities
o Direct accountability for the results of a project with responsibility for ensuring the client’s ultimate satisfaction
o Work with the client to clearly identify the project’s scope, deliverables and acceptance criteria.
o Develop a Proposal and/or Statement of Work to codify commitments on the project
o Develop the project estimates and project plan with input from the team when possible.
o Set clear expectations with the project team as to their scope, deliverables and process and then actively manage the team against these expectations.
Requirements
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Customer interaction skills and business sense – an understanding of how organizations and product companies in particular work – how they make money – how all of the parts of the organization work together
o Software development management experience
o Experience estimating and planning software development projects.
o Experience managing a team of 3-5 or more developers and testers on an aggressive schedule.
o Exposure to multiple software development lifecycle approaches (spiral, agile etc)
o Software process understanding:
o Experience with requirements management and change management through the product lifecycle
o Experience with software configuration management, maintaining up to date requirements, designs and tests in synch with the code, tracking defects, etc.
o Awareness if not experience with structural coverage analysis, continuous build and test approaches, etc.
